Purpose

Purpose of the Programme

The Master’s Program in International and European Studies (MSc IES) aims to provide and transmit high-level, contemporary knowledge, to support empirical and theoretical research, and to offer exposure and experience to international approaches and practices in the fields of International and European Studies. It is guided by the principles of academic freedom, meritocracy, and equal opportunity provision.

The Master’s Program in International and European Studies offers a modern, high-quality, and outward-looking one-year study program (75 ECTS), leading to the award of a Master of Science (MSc) in International and European Studies.

The Program aims to:

Deepen scientific knowledge and advance research in the fields of International and European Studies.

Link the curriculum with the contemporary needs of public administration, diplomacy, business, organizations, the economy, and society at national, European, and international level, while also contributing to the personal and professional development of students.

Prepare high-level professionals capable of responding to challenges and contributing effectively to the resolution of the complex issues of the modern international environment.

Foster knowledge and skills that promote innovation, the dissemination of research outcomes, and the effective utilization of research results, with strong commitment to academic ethics, sustainable development, and social cohesion.

Strengthen cooperation with similar Master’s programs, academic institutions, and research organizations in Greece and abroad, promoting academic mobility of students, graduates, and faculty members, and contributing to the enhancement of the European Higher Education Area, the European Research Area, and the European Education Area.

Provide solid theoretical training for those who wish to pursue doctoral studies.
